Danum Valley Conservation Area in Lahad Datu, Sabah is the largest remaining area of undisturbed pristine lowland rainforest in Sabah. It is gazetted under The Cultural Heritage (Conservation) Enactment 1998, as a Cultural Heritage (Conservation) Area.
This place is the real deal with virgin rainforest and the accommodation is at the world renowned Borneo Rainforest Lodge nestled alongside the magnificent Danum river.
On this tour, you get to experience jungle trekking on the Nature Trail and get to go on the Canopy Walk. If the weather permits, you get to go on a Night Safari in an open-air truck in search of nocturnal wildlife.
On Day 2, we will doing guided jungle activities, including a trip to the ancient Kadazandusun burial site – the Coffin Cliff.

Maliau Basin
Maliau Basin is Sabah’s Lost World, a place for nature explorers to trek in a pristine rainforest described as one of the few remaining untouched rainforest in the world.
Maliau Basin Conservation Area is an excellent site for jungle trekking, bird watching and Night Safari.
Maliau Basin contains an unusual assemblage of flora and fauna, with at least eight species of pitcher plant and several orchid species endemic to Borneo. Maliau may also be one of few remaining sites of the rare Rafflesia tengku-adlinii, first discovered here in 1988.
Maliau Basin’s most well-known waterfalls is the magnificent 7-tier Maliau Falls, along with the spectacular Takob-Akob Waterfall, Giluk Waterfall and Ginseng Waterfall.
Maliau Basin Conservation Area is reachable by road either via Tawau or Keningau. In this tour, we will be going by way of Keningau, an hour and half’s journey by vehicle.

Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre
Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, Sabah was opened in 1964 to rehabilitate orphaned orangutans for release back into the wild. Today, the centre is a world renowned center for apes and also cares for injured or displaced endangered wildlife.
Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre is about 45 mins away from Sandakan or 5 hours away from Kota Kinabalu and sits on the edge of the Kabili forest reserve in North Borneo.
On this tour, you get to view the rehabilitation efforts going on at the Centre and witness the feeding of the orangutans.
Sukau Rainforest Lodge
You will journey up the Kinabatangan River to stay at the award-winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge. While at the lodge, you will head out into the wild on your first river safari to see the Proboscis monkey and other wildlife.

Tip of Borneo
Tip of Borneo is the northern-most tip of North Borneo, Sabah. It is located in the Kudat distrcit, three hours (215km) drive from Kota Kinabalu City.
The Malay name is “Simpang Mengayau” which means “lingering junction” and this is where the South China Sea the Sulu Sea.
Enjoy the stunning view of the sea, especially the sunsets if you happen to be there.
The Tip of Borneo is a Day Trip. It includes sight-seeing trips to the Rungus longhouse, traditional gong-making village and the Gombizau Honey Bee Farm.

Day One: Arrival

09:30 Scheduled Transfer
An overland journey on a gravel road to Borneo Rainforest Lodge for 2½ hours.
Upon arrival at Borneo Rainforest Lodge, your exotic Welcome Drink will be served while the Front Office Personnel will brief you on the facilities available at the Lodge.
In the afternoon, an introduction to the forest through Nature Trail and proceed to the Canopy Walkway.
In the evening, if weather permits, experience a Night Drive in an open-air truck in search of nocturnal animals.
Day Two: Jungle Activities
Guided jungle activities – trek to the Kadazandusun burial site – Coffin Cliff.
Proceed with trekking to the View Point for a bird’s eye view of the Danum Valley and the Borneo lowland rainforest.
Descend to the Jacuzzi Pool for a refreshing dip.

4D/3N Maliau Basin
Day One: Kota Kinabalu – Maliau Basin Conservation Area
Leave Kota Kinabalu in the morning and enjoy a scenic drive (5 hours). Stop in the small town Keningau, en route to Maliau Basin Conservation Area, for some last minute shopping and continue your journey to the Sabah’s Lost World.
Part of the road are still gravel, so be prepared for the bumpy ride.
Arrive at the Shell Maliau Reception, lunch and proceed along the gravel road for another 1 hour drive to the Maliau Basin Studies Centre – pygmy elephants and wild cattle (banteng) are frequently seen in this area.
Upon arrival, freshen up, then visit the Sky Bridge (400m‐long and suspended 22m above forests floor) and trek the Nature Trail for an introduction of the rainforest.
Tonight enjoy a night drive in search of nocturnal wildlife; species most often encountered are clouded leopard, mousedeer, western tarsier etc.
Overnight at Maliau Basin Studies Centre (Hostel).
Day Two: Agathis Camp – Nepenthes Camp
After breakfast, pack up and head to Agathis Camp nestled in hill mixed dipterocarp forest.
From Agathis Camp trek through the rainforest for 7 km to reach Nepenthes Camp constructed by the Camel Trophy Expedition in 1993.
Upon arrival, visit a 33m high observation platform which provides an opportunity to observe birds at close range and allows breathtaking views of the surrounding forest canopy.
Proceed for another 2 hours walk to the beautiful Takob Akob and Giluk Falls.
Relax enjoying the surrounding rich vegetation.
Return to the Nepenthes Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day Three: Agathis Camp
After breakfast, trek to magical health forest “Garden of Eden” where you can observe several species of endemic and carnivores plants.
Return to Agathis Camp.
After dinner enjoy a night walk in search of nocturnal animals.
Overnight at Agathis Camp.
Day Four: Agathis Camp- Kota Kinabalu
After breakfast, visit the 4‐storey Maliau Basin Observation Tower, which offers a spectacular morning views of the rainforest.
Journey back to Kota Kinabalu and lunch en route.

Get acquainted before we make our way to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre where you’ll learn about the plight of the Orang Utan and see the conservation efforts firsthand. We proceed to watch a video show about the plight of the Orang Utans and the rehabilitation efforts ongoing at the Centre.
Walk ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden boardwalks to witness the feeding of the orang utans at 1000hrs then we continue to the newly completed enclosed nursery area for young orang utans. If the Orang Utans are feeling particularly friendly, you may even get the chance to get up close to the Orang Utan so be sure to hang onto your belongings.
Thereafter visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about conservation of the world’s smallest bear.
After lunch, we head to the Sandakan jetty where we’ll embark on a Borneo Eco Tours speedboat for a 2½ hours boat journey up the Kinabatangan River to the multi award-winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Don’t worry as the ride is not choppy and it won’t be just boat ride as there will be opportunities along the way to view wildlife and birds, and if you’re lucky, even the shy Bornean Pygmy Elephants.
Cool down with a refreshing drink and cold towel upon arrival while our friendly manager helps you check-in. Take a few moments to savor afternoon tea before we head out into the wild on your first river safari.
Every boat is equipped with eco-friendly outboard engines (used along the main river where the current is strong) and electric motor (used during wildlife viewing in the small tributaries) in search of wildlife and birds. Take loads of photographs as the wildlife extravaganza puts on a show. If you don’t see a Proboscis monkey on your first river cruise, ask for a FREE Night Cruise on us!
Return for a solar heated hot shower after sunset before enjoying a candle light buffet dinner overlooking the mighty river. Be sure to try on our in-house Sarongs (local wear) which is cooling and helps keep away any mozzies.

An early morning call at 0530hrs to catch the rainforest waking up is in store. If conditions are just right, you might even wake to a surreal heavenly experience shrouded in mists.
After a light breakfast, we embark on a morning river cruise in search of waking wildlife and birds which are most active in the morning on our way to the Kelenanap Ox-Bow lake.
Return to a full breakfast awaiting you, take the time to just immerse yourself in the surroundings.
After breakfast, proceed for an educational walking tour along the lodge’s Hornbill Boardwalk with our in-house naturalist after which you’ll have some time to relax.
If you’re itching for more activity, we have many optional activities on offer like a pampering Foot Spa treatment, Batik Painting for the family, our soon to be completed Dip Pool and various other leisure activities. There is also a different free activity everyday so be sure to ask us.
After afternoon tea, we head out onto the river once again in search of more wildlife. Breathe in the rainforest and capture the moments as we return at sunset from our final river cruise.

Day Three: Gomantong Cave
We take an early morning river cruise along the Menanggol River by silent electric motor in search of wildlife, waking to the cacophony of the rainforest before returning for a full breakfast.
We have time to relax or enjoy one of our optional activities.
After lunch, we make a 27 km overland journey to the Gomantong Cave. The cave is surrounded by primary rainforest, rich in fruiting wild figs which makes it an ideal place to spot orang utans in the wild.
We’ll spend our time exploring the cave and its surroundings until sunset, when you’ll be overwhelmed by the exodus of over two million bats heading out for the night, swiftlets coming in to nest as well as raptors (eagles) swooping in and preying on the bats.
Return to Sukau Rainforest Lodge for overnight stay.
Day Four: Sandakan – Transfer out
After breakfast, return to Sandakan by boat.
Enjoy a quick lunch before we proceed to the airport for the 1430hrs flight to Kota Kinabalu.
For those who are taking the evening flight, we’ll have time to visit the Rainforest Discovery Centre which has an impressive information center. Take a birds eye-view of the centre from the canopy walkway and tower before exploring the botanical gardens, home to various species of flora including orchids and agricultural plants.
For those interested, we then proceed to the Sandakan Memorial Park which is a memorial built to remember lost POWs during World War 2.
Return to the Sandakan airport for your evening flight.

Tip Of Borneo – Day Trip
07:30 Pick-up from Hotel
Meet and greet your driver and guide for pick up from your hotel at Kota Kinabalu area. Your journey will take 3 hours from the city to Kudat.
10:30 Arrive at Tip of Borneo
Arrive at the Northern Tip of Borneo, also known as Tanjung Simpang Mengayau which means ‘lingering junction’ as it is here that the South China Sea lingers and meets the Sulu sea.
13:00 Proceed to Rungus Longhouse
Proceed to the Bavanggazo Village for a longhouse visit. Built entirely using local materials, it is home to the Rungus people community, a sub-tribe of the indigenous Kadazandusun. Observe their very own unique bead works, lifestyle and costumes.
Lunch will be served Rungus style.
14:30 Proceed to Gong Making Village
Head to the Gong-making village, well known for local artisans and their exceptional skills of craftsmanship for a musical instrument rich with history and meaning.
After that we will moving forward to the sweet sticky business of bees at the Gombizau Honey Bee Farm. Get a feel of what actually goes down at the honey farm and of course, a taste of raw honey straight from the comb!
16:00 Back to KK City
Bid farewell to the sunny splendors of Kudat and head back to Kota Kinabalu city.
